EZE Trucking began in 1972 as an internal transportation business for Southern Distributors Corporation, a west coast roofing wholesale distributorship. With a growing base of construction contractors, EZE expanded its services in 1987 to provide independent transportation services to a broader range of construction related industries.


In 1993 EZE Trucking Inc. acquired Adams Trucking Company, which had a heavy haul trucking component to its business. By 1997 EZE Trucking’s revenues tripled and the company began to build a leadership position in the heavy and over-dimensional trucking industry.

In September 2001, Kirk Jensen, the current President of EZE Trucking, bought out the previous shareholders of the company in a management buy-out.  Under his leadership, the company initiated a strategy to better serve its customers by developing new service lines, growing its equipment base, and expanding its geographic footprint.

On December 15, 2002, EZE completed the acquisition of Pipeline Trucking Co. The transaction was an asset purchase that nearly doubled the fleet size of EZE and added complimentary business niches.

  • EZE completed the acquisition of Intermountain Rigging and Heavy Haul, California division in February 2005. This purchase broadened the company’s market penetration in the crane movement business and added breadth and scale to the equipment fleet.
  • By May 2005, EZE opened a Logistics division in Medford, Oregon. The Logistics division enabled EZE to meet customer’s heavy and over-dimensional requirements on a national scale by tapping a national network of contract carrier relationships.
  • Two years later, in October of 2007, EZE purchased Tatel, Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona, a heavy haul company with thirty-five years in the industry. By acquiring Tatel, EZE added numerous tractors and specialty trailers to the fleet and expanded its regional footprint.
  • One year after that, in June of 2008, EZE acquired Western Lowbed Co., one of EZE’s biggest heavy haul competitors in Phoenix.  This acquisition provided market share in the region and added substantial equipment to the rapidly growing EZE fleet.

In March 2009, EZE partnered with Atlantic Street Capital, a Stamford based private equity firm.  That partnership has enabled EZE to target new customers, build out its operational capabilities, and continue the regional growth strategy.


Today, EZE Trucking employs over one hundred employees at its two terminals in Rialto, CA and Phoenix, AZ, and its national logistics division in Medford, OR.  EZE is an industry leader with over 200 tractors and 600 trailers, augmented by over 2,000 contract carrier relationships.  With its current scale and capabilities, the company is able to live the motto that EZE Trucking will move anything, anytime, anyplace.
